6th Grade Classroom

Hello! I am Mrs. Thomas, and I love teaching! I truly enjoy creating fun, hands-on, engaging ways for students to learn.  

This will be my fourth year teaching sixth grade at Villa Grove.  I have taught sixth grade for the last nine years and have taught for a total of 18 years.  I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and worked in the counseling and crisis intervention field for many years.  I then obtained my Masters in Education from Olivet Nazarene University and began teaching.  I am so excited to get to know my new kiddos and their families!

I am married to Mr. Thomas (Bryan) who teaches in the jr. high at Villa Grove.  We have three daughters.  Madison will be 29 this year and is a manager at Stadium Grill.  Macy is 25 and is a registered nurse.  Lilee is a freshman at Parkland majoring in criminal justice.  We have two grandsons.  Dexter will be a fourth grader at Villa Grove this year, and he loves swimming, hiking, and gaming!   Malakai is our sweetpea in heaven.  I also count any student I have ever had as my child--so I have a lot of them out there!  We also have two dogs, Rusty, a Jack Russell Terrier, and Bear, a Great Pyrenees, so I am usually covered in white hair!

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, camping, hiking, and sitting by a campfire.
